Absolute Thai is a concept restaurant operated by SEA Cuisine in Malaysia aiming to offer authentic Thai cuisine in a modern environment. (Doesn’t nearly every restaurant say that? LOL.) Naturally, they have on their menu all of the usual dishes that people know and associate immediately with Thai cuisine.
Tom Yam Mee Hoon with Seafood (MYR 15.90) – You have a choice of red or clear soup base, we chose the red soup base. It is a reasonably big portion for one and has enough spicy kick to it.
Stir-fried Minced Chicken with Basil Leaves (MYR 15.90) – This is an individual serving for one served with rice and sunny side up egg. If you are not so tolerant of chillies, you can ask for the kitchen to make it less spicy or non-spicy. The only thing that could be improved was the sunny side up egg, which was most probably pre-fried and cold when it arrived.
Stir-fried Spaghetti with Seafood and Basil Leaves (MYR 15.90) – A similar dish in terms of concept to the one above, except instead of rice this came with spaghetti and seafood replaced the chicken.
Having eaten here several times before, I can say that generally the food is good and the kitchen has maintained its quality in terms of taste and portion control. However, the service during my latest visit left much to be desired. Our side dish order of Thai fish cakes never arrived, nor did our drinks too. I pointed this out to the waitstaff and they removed the charges from the bill promptly but did not apologize for the error and seemed rather surly about having to do so.
