Montigo Resorts Nongsa

I had heard about Montigo Resorts Nongsa from way back when they first opened and a close friend’s company retreat was held there to glowing reviews. Naturally, I was interested the moment I found out that we would be staying at Montigo for my department’s self arranged bonding trip to Batam!

A very aesthetically pleasing view greets you the moment you step off the hotel shuttle bus. Resort staff greet you with cold towels and a chilled drink while they process your check-in.

Find your way around the resort with the help of this handy map. Montigo Resorts Nongsa provides buggy services to get you to your destination villa but if you don’t mind a bit of a walk it’s not that hard to explore. The tropical heat may be a killer though!

We were staying in the Hillside villas which comfortably fits up to 4 guests in a 2 bedroom unit.

Every villa has its own private pool. It’s not very deep, maybe about 1 meter in depth? But it’s pretty perfect for just lazing about in your own bubble of space.

Enjoy your breakfast with a gorgeous view or two of the pool at Tadd’s.

The breakfast spread at Tadd’s is a mixture of local Indonesian fare and the usual Western cereals and pastries. And apparently there is a weekend barbecue set up for dinner (but we didn’t get to try that).

If sofa beds are more your style Montigo Resorts Nongsa has those too.

Or you can bask on the open lawn space before the jetty.

If you are into water sports, the resort has water jet skis.

Montigo Resorts Nongsa is showing slight signs of age but it is still a very pleasing place to stay, especially if you are travelling with family or a group of friends. Don’t expect a super luxurious facility and your experience will be just fine.
